The decision by the Accra Hearts of Oak to play their junior team in the GHALCA G6 tournament has been called disrespectful.

Ghana Football Association Executive council member Randy Abbey believes that the move by the Accra-based team was total disrespect to the team, its fans and its traditions.

While speaking on Original FM, he said “You don’t disrespect your team and tradition this way. You don’t disrespect an association this way. You don’t disrespect your fans this way,”

Phobians played in the G6 tournament with their junior team which led them to lose their two games against Medeama SC(3-1) and 4-0 to Berekum Chelsea.

The tournament which featured four teams in the past had to be increased to six teams to accommodate hearts of oak who finished the sixth position in the previous season.

While the Auroras led by Samuel Nii Noi were being battered in the GHALCA G6 tournament, their seniors were training with Samuel Boadu ahead of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup.
