The IGP of the Ghana Police service Dr George Akuffo Dampare has said that officers who are killed in their line of duty will be replaced with their relatives.
He disclosed that this is to motivate officers in service to give their best when protecting Ghanaian citizens.
The IGP said this at a forum held on the KNUST campus.
He said ” When a police officer dies on duty, we have put new measures in place to ensure that a relative of the deceased officer who is qualified is recruited into the service as part of efforts to urge our officers to do their best in protecting the public,”
George Akufo Dampare added that he wants the Ghana police service to be a reference point for policing across the globe. He also called on the public to criticise the works of the Ghana police service as it would help them become better.
He ended by saying he wants a police service that will serve in the interest of the people.
